I put this together to preserve some memories and share them with the people that made them.

On the off chance that anyone see this but us.. All of the music was created by some combination of me, Jeff Roney, Scott Rutledge and Tyler.

Blake.

THC - Tommy's Lift (1993)

I won't forget how cool it was to go into an actual recording studio and record five songs. It was Barry Bilman's house, he was THE studio in town, and he had 8 tracks of ADAT and a board. We had 500 tapes of this pressed and couldn't afford any cover sleeves. I think the whole thing cost $250. We basically had one take.

Slug and Maybe are my favorites.

THC - II (1994)

This was a really ambitious project for us, I thought. We were doing pretty well with gigs but, we clearly bit off more than we could chew as 16-18 yr olds. We didn't have the cash to do it right and it was too big for one take. I bet we spent $450 on studio time, probably needed $2500. I'm not sure any of us were satisfied with the outcome, but it was really fun, and I loved being in the studio.  The last three songs are basically Zeppelin fan fiction.. which I find hilarious today.

I like Babysitter, Change, That's All It Is and The Wedding Song.

Private Studios - (1997)

Tyler, Scott and I recorded a couple of songs at Private Studios in Champaign. It was a cool experience because we met Jeff Tweedy from Wilco. We went in to record five songs, ran out of cash after two.

Fields Court - Griffin - (2002)

One of the best things I've done is getting my own studio gear. The following stuff we made during that time and are varying levels of completion. Some are missing vocals, or percussion layering, etc. All of the finished masters were lost in the crash.

Still, I'm pretty happy with most of these twelve songs. Wish I had all the finals.

Incomplete Demos

I wish we had taken these demos and developed them to include on Griffin. These are really sloppy, lots of mistakes, some more complete than others.  A couple of these, like Space Acoustic, may have become our best music.

Other Demos - (2002-2004)

Additional demos we made, but wouldn't have included them in a final product.

Forsyth Road - (2010)

I started recording ideas again in 2009-2010. Most were lost. Jeff just happened to randomly have a couple of them. Just here for posterity.

Band Practices 1993-2003

Some band practice snippets that were other songs we never got around to recording. It's pretty muffled, but you can hear where we were going while we developed these songs.
